when you switch with the tiptronic or when it's auto? one thing is because your tranny has a slower reaction. it's a trait on all b5 a4s. your problem may be just the tranny fluid.

i wouldn't try it if you're that new. also if you can't use tiptronic, you might have a tranny code. get it scanned with a vag com.

vag com is adapter cable and software to read and change codes via OBD plug. see www.Ross-Tech.com

What you describe is limp mode

To get transmission out of limp mode:
1. conduct adaptation of Throttle Valve Control Module
2. conduct adaptation of Kick Down Function
3.read DTC codes
4.erase DTC codes
5.regenerate readiness code

1-5 are accomplished with a vag com. Anyone with one should know these procedures.

ok so I was driving home today after work and was thinking.... I've noticed my tranny being sorta "funny" by this I mean it sort of shifts funny. I mean it doesn't shift hard or nothing like that. But This is what I noticed. If i'm driving at any speed, and I give it a little more than half throttle it will shift down, which I can understand it doing. But If I just quick press the throttle about half way and then let off right away it kind of sounds like it's in neutral..... Like if I missed a gear in 5spd. Make any sense. And if I let it do the "neutral thing" and then give it gas right away it will be in the gear lower but still in a higher RPM. Ehh... Feels and sounds weird but maybe that's normal. I guess i've never had this sorta problem on any past vehicles. Low tranny fluid maybe??? i've been meaning to go get the tranny fluid changed, and was going to see if the problem went away, before I asked about the issue. But seeing as there's sort of the same ? here I figured i'd hop on the band wagon And what is the Tranny Trait for the b5's???
