Hello all,

I just picked up a 01 avant with the BS triptronic auto trans and I was wondering if you could swap it out for the 6spd manual trans????? If so, are the mounts the same or do they need to be replaced? I plan on shopping around for one if this is possible. This could be a fun summer project.... Your input is appreciated.Thanks guys.

i am in the process of getting the parts. i have an RS4 trans tho, i got lucky. its going to be pricey, but not nearly as bad as people say. you are looking at about 3-3500 in parts (going from a parts car). the biggest pain is going to be the electronics....but find a good shop, VAST, and they can reflash all the ecu's. otherwise its just time consuming. you will need an extra set of hands or 2.

dont worry, not nearly as bad as people are going to say. if you are mechanically inclined, then dont be afraid of it.
