Default exhaust?

hey guys i have a 00 1.8 with GIAC chip in it, i need an exhaust bad, but i can't decide on what to get.
i was looking at the Borla they sell on awe.com, but it's only 2.25, does Borls make them any bigger? the only 2.5 i seen is the apr, and milteck, are these my only options? b/c their kind of expensive
do u guys have any suggestions on what i should get and what size b/c im thinking of going with a ko4 later on.
thanks for u help

Stock is 2" I think. Youd be surprised how much of a difference .25" makes. 2.5"-2.75" is good for a k03/k04. Maybe 3" for anything bigger than a k04. Borla and Milltek are great, but you can accomplish the same thing with a magnaflow muffler and custom piping for a lot le$$. If I did it again, thats what I'd do.

I agree with the above comment about how much you will notice a .25 change. But anyways I was just wondering if you would really go with a magnaflow muffler setup with these cars? Do u think it gives it an alright sound. I used to put exhaust on vehicles as one of my previous jobs. But I can honestly say i've never put one on a Audi before. We've done turbo cars but they were going for the full out race cars. They wanted loud exhaust and lots of flow. We ran lots of 3 inch exhaust. But they were also Running HUGE turbos. But... back to my question. If your going for something that isn't going to break the bank and will sound alright, would you reccomend the Mangnaflow setup? Basically all I want to do is let it open up a little bit. But I dont want it "Ricer" Loud. if you know what I mean

i agree with spike6339. I dont want the ricer sound but something that will defianately incress flow. i think what i might do i put a magnaflow muffler on and take out the resonator and put 2.5 back to the cats. i have a b5 2.8 so not much i can do as far as increasing flow but this will most likely help. i have some buddy's with this same set-up and they like it alot. and it sounds really good.

i think that a cat back system is way to much when u can get a coustom one for cheaper if it was me i would just go but a muffler that u like a sounds good and take it to a muffler shop and have them weld t new 2.25 or 3`` piping from the cat back and delete the resinator, you can get a hight flow cat i think thats probley the best thing to do for a 1.8 T
