Did the bolt snap or did a nut break? There are two nuts that hold the top of the strut (or the strut bolt) to the bushing in the top and then to that cup thing. If the strut bolt snapped you will need to buy a new strut

Its going to be a pain in the ass to get that bolt out if thats the case. Gonna need a impact wrench for sure.

That bites! Thank goodness you weren't really driving when it happened.
Let's also hope that's the only suspension damage there is!

I wonder what would cause that to happen... mebbe over torquing the nut, or too much stress on the strut bar?
Hopefully it'll be a quick fix of just getting a new nut and bolt.
Willing to bet you'll have to take out the wheel liner, and washer reservoir tank just to get to it.

Good luck clipse!

I dont think so. The strut goes up to the top of the fender.. not through the wheel liner. I bet your gonna need a new strut. Hope not, but probably.

I just hope that the strut didnt come back up and dent your inner fenderwell. That would really suck.

Yeah, weird man. For sure. I assume that the suspension was flexed pretty hard when you were pulling into your parking lot. Mine does the same thing, in fact, it flexes so much that the rear tire lifts about 6 inches off the ground!

Could have just been weak, or a design flaw on the strut. Are you running audi struts? Have you run over anything hard lately that could have weakened it? pot holes or... a body? or something lol.

^ i think did hit a bump goin pretty fast (35-40mph) well more like a groove in the road, but nothing too major.... nothing thatthe shocks couldn't absorb.

i ono, i'm just puzzled why it would snap when i would turn to park all of a sudden.

i have vmaxx coilovers BTW. they've only been on for less than a couple of months!

Did you replace the strut bearing when you upgraded the suspension?
