So my check tire pressure light came on today. I stopped at a garage and had them check all the tires (even the spare) and they were all on the high side (41 lbs) so they took them down to 35. I drove the car around for a little while after that then let it sit for a few hours. Went back out a later and the light is still on. Any ideas other than a trip to Audi?

My buddy got a tire pressure light on his 330i, he's got run flats though. One of his tires is damage, he got some bumps (bubbles)on it. Check your tires visully.
I checked all the tires earlier, they looked fine to me. I just went out and reset the monitoring system to the current pressure (35lbs.) and the light is now off. I will check tomorrow to see if the light comes back on.
My guess is that the air has expanded some now that it is hotter out. The fact that all the tires were at 41 lbs., 6 lbs over the recommended limit, leads me to believe that they had to much air to start with and that theymay have just now gone "to high" for the pressure gauge.
Not sure if the TPMS is different in the A4, but I have it on my AR and its never worked consistantly. I'm sure I have a bad sensor on one of the wheels, but I'm opting to let it be until I make a tire or wheel change.
Maybe try reseting it, so that the system re-learns the pressures? (I'm assuming it works the same as the setup in the AR)
i think your dead on with the fact that its hotter out that the air in your tires has expanded....try nitrogen in them it doesn;t fluctuate nearly as much

i see ppl talk about fillin up wit nitrogen quite a lot here... and i have been wondering what are the advantage other than the fact that it doest expand and contract nearly as much as regular air that they use... and also where and how much does it cost to fill them up wit it?

I had this same problem with my back right tire. I had to reset the computer after adjusting the pressure, even though some doofuss at the dealership told me it would automatically reset.
Don't know anything about nitrogen though...sorry.
