Default New project.

Well I started a new project since my Hagus Sport mirrors sold, and after some work I have decided to share my progress with the rest of my fellow Audi Forum enthusiasts. As you know mirror options are not plentiful for the B5 A4 so I decided to try something a little different.

When I bought the car it had stock mirrors on it but I was also offered the Hagus mirrors as well. I later found out that the owner also had a Passat wagon and he had installed the A4 Hagus mirrors on the Passat with the only modification being that he had to re-drill the mounting hole. Well that got me to thinking if the reverse was possible and this is what I came up with.

I ordered an MK5 mirror that was designed for the Passat with a smoked turn signal and CF shell. Here are some pictures of the progress so far and it was far more difficult than I had planned. I had expected to have to do some wiring but I did not expect to have to do as much cutting and trimming as I ended up doing. Let me know what you think and I will be more than willing to share my experience with anyone who may want to try the same.

Here are some pictures of my progress so far.

Some more detailed pictures will be posted tomorrow since the shells have been painted plack and the mirrors have been rewired. Please feel free to let me know what you think and thanks for looking.

No they are not power folding, but they do have the built in turn signal which I opted for the smoked lens.

Looks nice man. Why did you pay the money for the cf shells if you were going to paint them black? Or was there not a price difference?

The CF shells do not fully cover the mirror shells so I had to have them painted black as they came in a dark grey color. It's mainly just on the front side of the mirror that the paint was needed so I only had them paint what would be seen after the CF caps were installed.

Nice B5! Not normally a fan of beige/tan cars, but with the wheels and hood and tint.... Not bad at all.
