Kind of in the same boat as you my friend. Took my Audi TT in for maintenance and am now looking at a $5,000 bill for various engine parts. I am trading it in on a 2003 Lancer Evolution. As far as a mazdaspeed 6 if you love it buy it, I have gone through so many cars (check my sig) and never was once satisfied until the evo came along

I would personally say just fix it. If you can do the work yourself you are looking are parts only and a head gasket does not cost much... If i were you i would just replace it myself. If you have not done your timing belt i would do that at the same time because you would have it apart anyway.

just my .02.....

LOL, my car is in perfect running condition with all the maintenance done and I am going to go look at an Evo this weekend as well. I love the 4g63 and have had tons of success with it in the past. Makes power so much easier and cheaper than this 225 of mine, a fraction of the cost. One thing it is lacking is the head turning looks, interior and uniqueness that the TT has.

Alot of people have the evo here in the Seattle area but you rarely see a modded TT. I always get compliments on it when I take it out. More so than any other car I owned..even from Evo owners I have ran into at meets or parking lots.

The Mazdaspeeds are nice cars. I like Mazdas I drive a 03 protoge wagon fora commuter. It has ALWAYS been reliable.
