Default 01 1.8t timing belt and water pump question...

well im going to do a timing belt and waterpump on an 01' a4 1.8t quattro this weekend, and was wondering if there was any tricks on these to make life easier? ive done them on vw's before but those are obviously transverse engines. with the longitude 1.8t is there enough room to get to everything or will the radiator support get in the way? the car has 136k on it and the belt is original so it needs to get done sooner then later. thanks for any help you may have to offer.

check out the diy on audidiy.com for the TB - you will need to put the front of the car into the service position. get a couple long 8mm bolts and screw those in when you take off the bumper supports, the front radiator carrier will hang out and give you enough room without having to swing it completely out of the way

Is it seriously on the original belt at 136K? That's amazing.
