The ashtray cover won't lock closed on my car.. I hae taken the entier thing apart and I can't figure this out.... Any help or suggestions?

You mean the one between your shifter and your A/C head? If so, then you need to stop putting change in it, and use a flashlight, pick, or some shaking around to remove the change that is stuck inside of it. You have to remove it to get the change out. If you're talking about one of the compartments above the radio, then it needs to be replaced.
