Default brake warning sensor,please help

hi all,wonder if anyone can help me, my brake sensor warning light is on permanently,my mechanic says that i need,the boy side of the pad wiring harness but cannot buy this part seperately! would have to buy the complete brake wiring system? costing around £400.would anyone be scrapping an a4 quattro 2.8(2001) and have the part i need? please help, the light and bleep when i get in the car is doing my head in!! cheers guys.

Just solder in a resistor to turn off the light.
