Default Chip Removal? 2000 S4 Tip

Maybe stupid question but, my chip is soldered on to circut boardin ECU. Having problems with it and car functioning. I either need to replace Ecu or remove it. The problem is it came with the car, is is not labled-except for some numbers if I remember correctly. I'll post a pic up in a few days if no advice. I was thinking as a noob that if they soldered it on, then I should be able to remove and clear through Vag-Com. Any advice? Thanks in advance

and yea, its tiptronic, 2000 S4, yes I'm sure its chipped

not quite that easy....better off just getting a new ECU and selling yours, maybe even trade it.

i have a stock 2000 ecu for a TIP, what kind of problems you having with yours? what chip is in it?

Hey, Thanks for the advice. Anyway it's running really rich, going through gas like its going out of style. Pulled codes for O2 sensors B2 behind cat, I replaced both behind the cat and when rechecked at a local shop B1 S1 was coming up-O2 Precat-as well as some code pertaing to the ECU itself. We cleared out the codes and the car ran like a champ... for about 2 hours. An APR rep looked at chip and thought possibly a GIAC but was not sure. The guy that fixed my O2's, Said it'd probably be best to replace with stock and then start over. So I'm starting to look for replacement. Still a noob at this so not looking to sell because I need to drive. Just find someone who knows more than me and has a stock to trade. That way, I dont need to worry about being without a ECU andhaving to find one to buy. Plus it'll get the wife off my case. But I need to do soon because my emission is overdue and i thought it was only an O2.

...I know I need to get a pic up, and will do so in a day or so. Thanks again
