I have a day off this thurs and I know my rear brakes need changing. I have a copy of the Bentley service manual to help me but just wanted to ask those who had done a rear brake pad change how hard it is to do?

I hope your rotors are in good shape. Don't want to put new pads on grooved rotors.

All together it's not a difficult job, as long as you have the proper tools!
Like a rear piston caliper tool. You have to spin and push at the same time for the rear piston to move.
Local auto part store should carry it; if not Sears definitely does.

Oh you might also consider a can of brake quiet.
It just gets sprayed onto the back of the pads, and helps prevent squeaking and/or squealing.

brakes arent hard. just remember, the pistons in the rear brakes need to be rotated as they're compressed. ECS sells a caliper retraction kit, if you wanna get fancy about it, but you could probably make due with a C-clamp and a screwdriver or somethin.

oh, and loosen your brake reservoir cap so the fluid has someplace to push to easily while you retract the piston.
