Default 2000 A4 engine tapping

From theleft side top. Iam selling the car and while I've noticed it somewhat before a buyer noticed it today. Not loud and more pronounced at start up. Thoughts? Would Lucas help?
Thanks

Start with a Seafoam treatment - it can work wonders. If it's a tap because you are not getting full valve lubrication, Seafoam may break the blockage away. The 1.8T is known for oil sludge, and Seafoam will be your best friend.

Hit up the Search feature up top - type in "seafoam 1.8t" and you'll get about four trillion threads. Also, either on www.audiworld.com or www.audidiy.com there is a tech article for the 1.8T that shows step by step what to do.

So, I ran Seafoam through the engine. While it was in there the noise went away. After 70 miles I did an oil change & now the noise is back. I would think that with the oil so thin the noise would have been worse with Seafoam in the oil. Any insights???

Tapping is caused by an exhaust leak like a crack in the header, also could be a worn belt or pulley.
