Default In dash DVD Head unit

Hey guys, first and foremost i am trying to install a Pioneer AVH-P4000dvd head unit in my car. It is very similar to the D3 just without Navi and alot cheaper also. I have a 2004 B6 and i have the Bose factory system and i am planing on going at this project of installing it within the next couple of days i just want to see if anyone has done an In dash set up and knows what to look out for.

Parts i have currently

Metra dash- 99-9105
Metra wiring harness- 1787
the power antenna adapter i think its the 54 version
I also have the cage for the Pionner but idk if i need it becuz the metra dash kit came with side mounts
and lastly the remove keys

I will try and post pictures and updates for how the project is going i just hope i do everything right. i am new and this and gonna have my friend help me out with this. hopefull it isn't too hard. If you have anything that can me this easier or little hints on how to make these a stress free project please let me know!

check out my install

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=218304

also make sure you get the right antanna booster adapter, because the bose headunit has an fm and am signal booster installed so you will need that or you wont get signal, the metra dash kit is cheesy but its the only one...well theres others but they are the same so you will see there is no recess on the bottom. good luck

I don't know if it's going to be different for that head unit, but with my AVIC-D3, I also had to switch a wire in the harness to be able to have full access to all Navi and DVD functions while moving. Otherwise your video won't play when your going over 5mph, you'll get audio though!

yea i know you have to switch a wire for the D3. i was reading it on this website avic411.com and they show how you are supposed to do it for the D3 so im thinking it should be the same for this avh-p4000
