I had an ignition coil go out last week whitch is my second one since i bought the car 3 years ago. I got it replaced and today it seems like another one went out again. This is really pissing me off. Why the hell are these things going out? I cant keep getting replaced all the time!

They're kind of common. Sometimes I have half a mind to keep one in my trunk. If one goes bad, often an advisor will recommend all 4 on older non-ICM 1.8T engines. Just replace all the old ones that havent been done yet.

Additionally, check your plug gap and make sure the contacts to the packs are clean.

that just happened to me. number 2 cylinder coil died on wednesday and then number 3 failed on friday after noon, day and a half after number 2 was replaced. it's common for the surounding ones(s) to go around the same time. audi would replace all 4 when one goes, i have heard. it's easy to replace your self. just pop off the plastic, and pull it out. but don't take my instructions. have an experienced mechanic do it. you could fuck up ur engine.
