My 1998 Audi A4 T1.8 quattro came with 2 new sets of original Audi keys that the owner had purchased (said they were quite expansive). They have NOT yet been programmed.

How do I go about it?

(Note: next Audi dealer is unfortunately 40 miles away).

Can they be mailed in and returned? Is the original key (only one left) needed? Other info they would need?

Or is there no way around driving down there and get it done?
