Today at a stop light I through a CEL and lost boost pressure. I usually run about 12psi and I am down to 6. The car idles very rough and there was a bad smell in the air around the time this all happened. I don't have a code checker so any ideas what may be happening?
Thanks.
Run to autozone, shucks or any place like that and have it scanned. Sounds like a boost leak... or a very bad vac leak. Check the throttle body boot thing.

more than likely a boost leak. There is a possibility that one or both EGT sensors could be bad. That would result a boost loss.....i drove mine for3 months with6 lbs because of those sob's Hopefully thats not the case since there pretty expensive. Probably a boost leak though.

how long has it been since you changed your spark plugs?
Following that, it may be a coil pack. You can confirm by swapping in a known good coil pack (ie. brand new, or one from another cylinder and see if the misfire follows the #1 cylinder coil pack).
Following that, it may the ICM.

So I towed it to Autosport Werks today and turns out it was one of the Ignition Control Units. I got it replaced ($270.00) and seems to have fixed the problem.
Hmm, are you thinking of the ICM, Ignition Control Module? There should only be one of them. Otherwise they replaced a coil pack, which there are 6 of.

No there were two of what was replaced ( I watched him do it). They were located under the plastic piece to the far left of the engine and I could have sworn he said Iginition Control Unit, but maybe it was an ICM. Are there two of those?
