Default v8 chip?

Should i Chip my V8 s4? i mean is it even worth it? I have APR exhaust and downpipes and carbonio cai. I want to chip i think, but will it really give me anything? should i go with APR, or what chip will give me the most power? 2005.5 S4 standard.

The chips for v8's are good but you won't get a significant power increase as compared to a b5.
I think a chip and full exhaust will give your numbers around 380chp.
apr makes good software.

I have the Revo in mine (can be switched back to stock for dealer visits). Not much in the way of power gain but it does do a little better at low RPMs.

i have a tune by speedtuningusa.com right now... it definetly makes a difference.... especially with the rev-limiter changed to 8k i am able to take advantage of a better power band stretch... especially in first, second, and third... i only take it to 8k in first and second usually... in the first two gears it makes great power when you wind it up and then getting into the next gear at a little bit higher RPM really helps with pick up and go.... i mean gone!!! (... might i mention how freakin' awsome the V8 sounds at 8K!!!....)

i also just picked up a spare ecu i'm thinking of getting chipped by giac

One of the main benefits of a chip for the V8 is better throttle response, we have horrible response so it will eliminate some of the lag.

If you get the GIAC chip, is that a good one? Anyone know if I only need the 91 octane map (not valet, 100 octane and 93) whether it is easy to switch back to stock in case I have to smog it? Or, is that only APR chip that allows that? Is the switching done through the cruise control button? Finally, do both GIAC and APR chips raise the rev limiter to 8K?

I know for the b5's GIAC is able to switch the programs with a flashloader. I had one.
not sure with the b6's and b7's.

does the APR chip change the rev limiter? and how does that work anyways, changing the rev limiter i mean? isnt the red line to keep your car outta the danger zone to keep it from breaking? how does a chip change that, its still the same engine...

I dont have a v8 s4, but iv heard that the VAST 4.2 tunes are pretty good. If you have the full exhaust and cai it will definitly give you some more power. Theres not a ton to do to the V8 so if your trying to get all the power you can without spending a fortune i think the chip would be worth the money. If i had a B6/B7 i know i would have one.
