Default Gas Pedal

so i got my 2000 a4 1.8tabout 7 months ago when i got my temps, now ofcouurse i have my license and i was driving yesterday in tiptronic and i wqs in 4th and had the pedal to the floor, well atleast i thought i did. so i pushed a little harder and all the sudden the pedal went in like another notch and it shifted down to 2nd by itself and friggen took off. Does any know what last little notch in the pedal is and what it can do?

with tip the car will automatically downshift you 2 gears if you REALLY floor it to that point. If you're in 2nd it'll take you down to 1st.
Totally automatic, just a cool feature. Also your tip will automatically upshift if you redline... just another cool feature

It's the hidden 6th gear (please don't repeat that, that's not actually true). I don't know what it's called, but it's fun as hell.

It's the kickdown switch. It comes equipped as standard on every modern automatic car. The Batmobile had one too.
