Default Brakes scratch

The car came with new Power slot rotors on all 4 corners with Hawk brake pads are not even a month old.
They are no squeeking/scratching (not just in the beginning to rub the rust off, but always).

I did not notice when test driving the car, but it now always there.

Should I check something? No concern/normal?

Volker

Default RE: Brakes scratch

I try again (had brain jumble when typing the first):

The brakes make a scratching noise all time; not just when starting to drive after the car has parked for a day or two (that's the little rust on the disk coming off).

New Power slot rotors on all 4 corners with Hawk brake pads are not even a month old.

Should I be concerned?

go to the parts store and buy some brake anti-squealing compound and put some on it. o blast your brakes with brake cleaner first

Power slotted rotors will always be noisy compared with a blank disc. They are slotted and "catch" the pad, making some very disturbing noises when coming down off the highway, but it's often more of a growling.

Squealing is due to metal vibrating. As Hiwords said, get some anit-squeal for brakes and apply it to the backsides of the pads, guide clips, and slider pins. Clean the calipers really well of built-up brake dust and rust before reassembly.
