I just had some regular maintinance done to my car (tie rods, brake pads) and planned to do the axles as well my problem is that none of my local shops carry or even offer the correct axle for my particular car (2000/1.8T/Quattro/Manual) i went thru 3 different sets all turning out to be for quattro/auto fwd/man etc. after a few days they said the could not come up w/ the correct part next i turned to my local audi dealership they quoted me $350 an axle and im not prepared to spend that much

i found axles on Audicarparts.com that match my engine code and specs for $101.92 an axle and they even have free shipping

my question is has anyone dealt with this site before? and is there anywhere else i can get them cheaper or is it a reasonable price?

I bought both front axles for my car from www.germanautoparts.com for $99.95 each, plus shipping. Being that I'm only two hours from them, I paid standard shipping rates and got them the next day. I was very happy with them and will likely buy most of my OEM parts from them, even if only because they were very fast and if there's an issue with something and all else fails, I can drive there to resolve it. Manufan (AF member) recommended them to me after he ordered from them awhile ago, and they worked out great. A+ and recommended in my book.

haven't delt with them before, however $100 shipped per axel is a pretty standard rate, you'll be hard pressed to find them cheaper, and even if you did I wouldn't buy them anyway.. I'd be concerned about quality. Some people will tell you that it's better to just re-boot the stock axels since they're a superior design, however bearings *will* go bad, no how many times you re-boot and fill it with cv joint grease, it's the oldest trick in the book to bring back customers to dealerships and the such..
