I am looking maybe to get a used 02+ A4.

I know the timing belt needs to be replaced around 70k miles and the coils
can go bad, but is the car a reliable car for the most part?

Anything I should look at when buying a used one?

Look for any oil leaks/coolant. Look underneath the car if possible at the differentials- they tend to leak also.
Ask for every possible receipt/maint. record.
