Basically, I want to know if 1000 HP+ can be made on the engine w/o boring up to a 2.0. Just keep it 1.8. I know a BAAAAT (emphasis, not typo) is needed, but is there one that can handle that kind of power for our cars or are we talking custom? Just a thought, cause I would love to do that. It would complete the joy of life for me if I could. All I need is motivation, a real job, and time. Remember, 1.8 not boring it to 2.0 or anything. Thoughts?

You just made my night...
But no, thats not possible. Even in my S4 to get 1000HP is not possible without pretty much building a new engine from the ground up.
A built engine with proper rods and piston along with a built head that has tons of work to support a 10-11k redline will be able to produce 1k hp. However, you will really need more displacement to have any useable powerband. See all evo guys making 1k hp on a 2.2-2.4L stoked engines still needing tons of revs
