Default Oil Change question

went to autozone and they did not carry Mobil1 5w-40 they only had 5w-30. is it ok to use it? I was told by the salesman that its actually better since i got 50,000+ miles.

well they recommend 5W-40, and you dont have to go with mobile1, there is a whole list of approved oils that you can use... let me find it real quick for you.

check out that link... theres an easier one out there to read but i couldnt find it... this link also says 5W-30 is ok, but if you look around im sure you will find 5W-40, which i would recommend to go rather than 5W-30, although im sure they are both fine

mobil 0w40 or castrol 5w40are what you want

i can never find 5w-40 mobil 1 so i use 0w-40 mobil 1.

Anyone find it odd that Amsoil and Royal Purple are advertised on this forum but neither are an approved oil for an Audi?
