Default Removal of center armrest/phone plug power

Hey, I got a 2000 A6

I am doing a mounting of an iPod inside the center arm-rest where the phone usually goes. I have 2 options, maybe someone has any tips? Thanks in advance.

One way: I want to get 12V power to that phone jack inside the armrest to tap into it. I tested the leads and there is no power there now. Any body have a quick fix for this? Fuse somewhere?

OR. I was going to try an splice the power cord from the cig lighter just below the arm rest back there and run it into the jack and that'd be fine, so I guess I need to disassemble the arm-rest. Anybody have a safe, non destructive way to do take out/apart the armrest?

Danke! Thanks!

You need to invest some money into a service manual for your car. They are about $125 and will show you how every part on your a6 comes a part
