I have a 94 100s with 16 inch wheels. I would like to put on 225/50/16. Will they have sufficient clearance. I know the s4 have the 225's

The one-up size is 205/55 16, but the 225/50's will work. The 225's will be approximately 0.75 inches wider in tread width than the 205's.
