1994 audi 80 cabriolet 2.3 auto in failsafe mode
 

Hi ,Here in Ireland and new to the forum I wonder if anyone can help.car stuck in fail safe mode and will only drive in 1st or reverse.Some electrical connections were disconnected during a back to factory refurb by previous owner after a full respray and roof/interior removal.Is it likely to be a fluids issue or an electrical issue.Auto electrician who got the car started advised that a previously installed alarm had disabled the 'the auto box feature ' that prevents the car starting in drive allowing the car to start in gear.
Any help would be appreciated
