Default 80 electrical issues

hi everyone im from england and new to this forum after having bought an 1990 audi 80 for £175 with 152 000 miles on the clock the car is brilliant and still pulls well for an old girl although it has a few problems with electrics
1 1 electric rear window dosnt work pretty common problem i am sure and am expecting a new motor is in order although i cant get the door card off to check
2 the more serious problem
when i put the main beam on after about 20 seconds all the lights go off including normal driving lights, i found this out while going round a bend on a dark country lane at 50 mph which was an interesting place to find out i am thinking that this is the indicator stalks as it links to the next problem
3 the windscreen washers have their own mind as sometimes all will work fine, sometimes only the wipers will come on and others nothing will work however the wipers work fine on normal use its just when i try to wash the screen
any ideas would be greatly appreciated

news anyway
1 rear window after sitting in the car and playing with the rear window lock heard a loud clunk now rear window works
2 & 3 both sorted by taking idicator stalks off and cleaning with electrical cleaner
just had to change rear brake cylinder and top mounts for mot and a tyre but couldnt be bothered to buy one so nicked the 17s off my golf that is sitting unused at the moment

check the light wireing harness ... you have bunch of shorts somwhere for some reason .... get a voltmeter it's going to be your best friend ... check the wattage of the bulbs (healight) higher than recomended will cause alot of problems .... for the windows check the switches
