84 5000 turbo alternator question???
 

i have a 1984 audi 5000 turbo and i need a new alternator but all the parts sites say to refer to Application Notice #B-85 in the Bosch reman catalog regarding charging problems during wet weather. and i dont have such catolog nore find one allso i need to know what a "W" terminal is on the alternator and if one is needed for a 1984 5000 turbo with power every thing let me know somthing anything i realy need to buy an alternator thanx

well i found out my battery was being drained because i had my fuel pump relay riged allways on... i have to do this because the relay does not get power to turn the swicth on and off so i have to make the switch allways on i wonder if any one can help me with what could be causing this problem the fuel pump should turn on when the key is turned (engine not running) but dosent i am thinking this could be the ignition switch also my instuments do not work except for battey warning light that does come on some times ( could be unrelated DONT KNOW) there is allso a rataling noise that comes from the fuel filter area and seems to stop after engine is running for a while i am allmost sure that this would not be afecting relay but could be wrong because i have limited knoweledge of cars but i think its more electrical than mecheanical
