Audi 80 '95 model 2.0 4 cyl starting issue

Hi.
I recently bought this car from a dealer who had intended to keep it himself (yeah haven't we heard this before?) Anyway... It's got a new battery in it. If I leave the battery disconnected for a day or so and hit the starter it fires first time. It will start several times after that and then just crank over until the battery is flat until I repeat the exercise.

I'm guessing it has an air bay issue from a nudge it got in the front. There is something running behind the dash all the time. Air bags are not a compulsory item in AU. Can anyone suggest how I reset the car's computer and disconnect the airbag please?

All suggestions are welcome. It could be something else. The dealer didn't want to know me after he got my cash.

AJ.

Remove the negative battery terminal off the battery, Completely removed, take a moderately long screw driver and hold it against the terminal. take the opposing end and press it against the positive terminal for 5-10 seconds. this will reset all the computers on the car completely by draining all the capacitors in the computers. WARNING DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS THE TERMINALS WHEN BOTH ARE ATTACHED TO THE BATTERY. AT LEAST ONE NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE BATTERY OR BOTH.
