Heater core

Has anyone replaced their heater core?... Mine took a dump last night, wasn't able to see out of the car and boiling hot water started pouring in on the passenger side.. It was fun.. I looked around and found parts but the problem is tearing the dash out of the car to get to it.. any suggestions you could throw my way would be splendid.

If i were to bypass the heater core and just put a U shaped pipe in there would the car run without over heating?.. it's getting to the time of the year when i really dont need heat..

I know how to do it, i'm just wondering if it's going to overheat the car..

well you could just bypass the heater core ... just stick both of the heater core hoses togeter in the engine bay ... no leaks and you'll have circulation but no heat and it shouldn't overheat

that's what i was saying to begin with [8D]already done. i just need to run it for a while to make sure it's good.

In our cars, heater core is always on. Doing the pipe in a pipe should not overheat the engine. However if it does, you can always do what I did at the begining, it is to take 2 rubber peaces like plugs, from strauss or autozone, small enough. Then Stick them into the pipe. Too cut off the circulation.

Later I simply fixed my heater, for like 40 buks or something.

RE: Heater Coil!!

Well, i bypassed the heater core completly, and i have a U pipe in there, but after driving less than a mile the Liquid temp/level gauge comes on, and the car starts to overheat and what not. So, a little lost of that one.. the water is circulating but overheating.. any ideas
