How to Repair Crankcase Breather Filter 1994 Audi 90S
Hi. I am new to the board. I was wondering if anyone knows how to replace the crankcase breather filter on a 1994 Audi 90s? I am getting blue smoke out the exhaust when the car is hot and I think the filter is the cause of the problem. Problem is I do not know where the filter is located in the engine to repair myself, and do not want to spend the money to have my Audi dealer do it, since I live in Brooklyn, NY and I have yet to find a good audi dealer mechanic. I.e. I brought the car into the dealer because I was losing power going uphill and they charged me $170.00 to tell me they couldnt find anything wrong with the car...
any help is much appreciated, james |
RE: How to Repair Crankcase Breather Filter 1994 Audi 90S
you found an audi dealer in brooklyn, Awsome. I my self here, and yet, yellow pages are not listing it.
anyway, there is no filter, there is on the other hand, fire preventing device, its side affect is being filter. I'm not sure that audi put one there, but in any case. there is only two breather hoses, which only take the air from the cam valve cover. there is no breather tube that goes into the crancase. the crancase gasses come through the return oil line. You can chech them , but not sure if the tubes gona help. most likely there is a more serious problem. PS I'm in Benson herts, where are you? Its good to have another Brooklyn person here on forum, I dont feel so alone any more :) |
