Temp and fuel Gauges

I have a 98 Cab and have had problems with temp gauge for some time. It works every once in a while,no rhyme or reason. I had sender replaced and that really did nothing. My mechanic cleaned off corrosion around unit and it worked fine for about 6 weeks.,that was in January. Now all of a sudden my fuel gauge is doing same thing it is not working when I first start up and only occasionally will pop up.

Any and all suggestions welcome

David

RE: Temp and fuel Gauges

if the temp and fuel signal sender is ok ... then check for bad conections (wiring) ... check the instrument cluster connections and the instr. cluster it self ..... earlier audis had a problem like that where the speedo, temp guage and others woked whenever they felt like it, but the other side of the instr. clusther they had crapy sodering ... so redoing the solder joints fixed the prolem ...
