Timing Belt

I just installed a new timing belt on my Audi 80 incorrectly. I am using the intstructions from "AllData" online and they are hard to see and I am dense. I apparently need better instructions. Anyone got better instructions they can email me?

Alldata s@#ks! Too much missing information it’s only good for service bulletins. What year is your 80 do you have a 4 or 5 cylinders? If I had to guess you messed up your ignition timing. Did you by any chance remove the camshaft?

I have been busy asking everyone and found out that the intermediate pully was my problem it has moved and the marks I was using were the wrong ones. I am trying with the newly found marks and hope to do better this time. I have a 1988. 4 cyl. Don't go away in case this attempt fails.

RE: Timing Belt

Like I said, ignition timing. It must be 1.8L 4-cyl I think that the 2.0 doesn't use an intermediate shaft that drives the distributor. My 1.8L 4000S had an intermediate shaft. I think that you should be OK once you align the cam, crank and the intermediate sprocket.
