Okay here is the deal. I have a 02 dodge quad cab 1500 that sucks gas like crazy. I have only used it for 450miles in the last 3 months. I have the oppurtunity to purchase an 01 all road V6 Bi-turbo Quattro. It has 80,000 miles on it. the body looks to be perfect. no tread wear on teh tires. the engine bay is still clean. I am under the assumption that it was well taken care of becuase they still had the original window sticker with all the options. and the price on it was 49,549. or something close to that. They are asking 9,500 for it. and are going to be giving me 7500 for my truck. I own about 9,000 on the truck so price would be about 12,000.

by the way it is black. with a tan color interior.

The allroad is a gas hog too. I don't know what mileage your getting in your truck, but prepare for 15 to 16 mpg with non highway driving in the allroad.

I don't think the $9,500 asking price is bad at all for an allroad. Any way to have it checked by someone who knows their audi stuff? Especially the suspension...if there is a problem with the suspension, it'll cost ya.

well right now I get about 9-11 city in the truck and about 18 higway. I'm going to have two of my friends run it on there lap top. One has an A4 and the other an S4. they have some program that will tell you everything that the car is doing.


why would the suspension be so costly. or more than normal suspension.

Make sure you get a very good warranty. One that covers the turbos and the airbag suspension. Since i've had my 2002 allroad (7 months) i've replaced both turbos $4000+,(coveredunder warranty) Now three ofthe airbags went out in one day and my warranty place said that those aren't covered and i'm looking at around $2000+ for that.
Cover your butt if you decide to get that car. They are fun, but they do break down and everything is $$$$$.

The adjustable air suspension can develope leaks (particularly the front) and replacing the air springs and/or compressorgets expensive. Figure paying $430 for each spring/bagbefore installation. There are a few points throughout the suspension where leaks could develope and I don't think pulling codes would diagnose a leak issue. My dealership had to check for leaks manually. (soap and water on the springs)
I've had one spring replaced and a modulator as well. Fortunately, both were covered under CPO.

I see that all over the boards CPO. Will I beable to purchase an extended warranty for this with it being so old with so many miles.

what kind of driving are people doing to have a leak in the suspension. I plan on driving roads. not haulling ass.

Well, this is my input.... I have an allroad with 90,000 miles. I have had it for 6 months.Here we go..... well my tansmission started to play up again so had to pull it out. These wonderfully designed Audi's make it impossible to get to the exhaust heatshield bolts so had to drop the motor with the trans. Adding further to their wonderful design charateristics, you have to remove the front body work (all but the fenders) to get the engine out. Turns out trans has snapped teeth on the drum which was no doubt caused by over pressure from a failed valve body, so a new one of those needed too. Whilst all was out, could see the rear cam seal covers leaking so replacing those (and front ones while at it) and those "infamous" oil return hose gaskest from the turbo that always leak. Then, of course, why wouldnt I do the timing belt whilst this whole thing is apart in a zillion pieces. If you see where these Audi lunatics have buried the thermostat you would undersatnd why I am doing this as well - plus the water pump cos that aint much better placed either. Oh, and has anyone seen how hard it is to get to the starter motor and alternator? So, yes, you guessed it, got these reman'd whilst I'm at it. With so many other little things so stupidly designed from a servicability aspect, I changed them too - "O" rings, gaskets etc. I think the allroad (maybe other Audis too) is the german revenge to the western world. If anyone out there is considering buying an Audi allroad, I give them this important advice:.......................................DON' T!

I don't know if driving conditions matter all that much. I've heard of leaks from people who drive their car like granny does to church and leaks from people who actually do a little off-roading. Then again, in some other forums there are peeps who've got over 100k with no leaks at all.
