2013 or later Allroad
Anyone have a 2013 or later Allroad based of the A4? Why a 2013 or later, I have a one car garage, and the old A6 based model won't fit in the garage and still let me open the door to get out. I'm looking to upgrade from my 2006 A4 quattro. I have a sea kayak that would work much better on the roof of an Allroad than a Q5 or Q7. The Allroad is lower to the ground making kayak loading easier. My current A4 is ok, but with a sedan roof, you can't get the roof rails very far a part making for a less stable situation. The Allroad allows for more fore aft spread of the crossbars, making for a more stable 16.5 ft kayak. I'll miss my manual transmission, but the convienience and storage of the Allroad is very tempting. Is there any know issues that I need to be aware of?

Hey, new member here, but just bought a 2013 allroad about a month ago. From experience, I've been pleased. I tried to do my fair share of homework before I bought, (looked at a bimmer wagon too), and couldn't find much of anything. After looking at about 13 of them, and reading the supporting carfaxes, I did notice most of them had to have the computer reprogrammed, including mine. But I never really investigated it. Hope this helps a little...
Being a new model in 2013 there are likely a few issues. At least updating the computer is pretty simple. Every car I've ever owned was the first year of the body style and hence had some bugs that were not discovered and corrected by the manufacturer until later in the model run.
Well now i've found a new 2015 Allroad that is still on the lot, and needs a new home. My 2006 A4's clutch went out and i ended up with an 2015 A4 loaner for a week and a half, which is a nice car, and virtually identical to the Allroad inside. I'm now strongly considering upgrading to the Allroad. It doesn't seem to ride as harsh as the A4, but unlike the A4, pavement ripples at 70 mph really find their way into the cabin, could it be the tires spec'ed for the car? Both Allroads I drove behaved that way. Anyone notice this? On the plus side, both Allroads shifted smoother and hunted between gears less, than the new A4 loaner, and I like the extra ride height which isn't to high. Thanks, in advance for your responses.

Well I bought the 2015 allroad. I really love the car. It's taking some getting use to since it is different from my old B7 A4. I found out the dealer over inflates the tires which is why I was getting the harsh ride. When I picked up the car, they had actually under inflated the tires to the point where it caused handling problems. Now the tires are at the recommended pressure and all is well. Now to just get use to the voice commands.
