Air Suspension Leak

Hi all,

I have a really bad air leak on my 2000 2.7T Allroad. The front left suspension strut is leaking so badly that the compressor can't lift it up at all.

I was wondering if it's ok to drive the car with deflated air bag if I find the way to disconnect the compressor so it doesn't burn out? Provided that the rest of the wheels are on level 1.

Any thoughts?

Alem

Official documentation states that you may damage the suspension by driving it in that condition. Now, having said that, I was forced to drive mine in the same condition for a bit, and seem to have made it through without any damage.

I didn't replace the bag to fix the issue either, I squirted some Slime into the bag and haven't had a problem since. :)

You can eventually burn out the pump. Bad part is, pump has a cut off if it gets too hot. Which it will if you drive like that. And then it wont go on for a while so if you need air in the other bags, youre screwed. I wouldnt drive it at all with bag toasted. Maybe a few miles or so but thats it.
