To buy or not to buy?
 

My mechanic bought a 2001 Allroad w 97k miles and is going through the engine. He's doing the head gaskets, heads, timing belt,all hoses and other belts, water pump and thermostat etc. After he gets done, he is offering it to me for what it costs him plus repairs. I'm thinking $6500-$7000. anyone have any thoughts? It seems to be a pretty good deal at that price. btw, the body and interior are in very good condition. The rear bumper has the usual scuffs from parking but he will change the skin as well. Thanks.
