Default Frequent pressure release from compressor?

I've owned the allroad (2003) for one year now. A few months ago the car wouldn't raise itself at all (not even setting #1). I took it to the dealer and they had to replace the entire front suspension (shocks, bags, and also the compressor)... this set me back $3,200 (rough).

Question - I understand when you turn off the car the compressor releases air... but is it normal to hear this sound while your driving? Now that it's summer and we have the windows down you hear the compressor release air in the rear multiple times during a short drive. The sound comes from the back right (at least it seems that location).

Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks.

Completely normal, the system will cycle air out to prevent condensation build up on the air bags/lines and compressor, just as you should do with an air compressor tank at home.
