Glovebox question + Advice
Hey all,
New to Audi, this is my first! Joining a few forums here and there. BUT. Just got a 2014 allroad with 85k on it. One owner, decent service history.
Doing my own research, but any big things to watch out for i should be aware of? im very used to working on all types of cars, but mostly my Saab and land rover.
i noticed this morning that my glove box is very hard to open when i pull the handle. It just stays at the top and doesn't drop down like i expected. Its about 11 degrees here (Fahrenheit) here so i reached in to grab my gloves and just noticed this. i haven't even looked a the glove-box before as my girlfriend put the gloves in there when i bought it last week. i dont know if this was always like that but now im really curious haha.
my question:
1. is it electric? is something broken or maybe just gunked up (idk how)
1(a). If it is power operated is there anything to watch out for now that im sure it has been manually manipulated open and closed a few times

There is likely a small hydrolic cylinder on the side of the glove box. It is there to keep the door from dropping down quickly. If the glove box hasnt been used much lately in may need lubricating. You will need to take the glove box out of the dash....quite easy to do
