Default Homelink setup

Hi,

I read my manual - but I am still not sure if I understand correctly.

1) I pressed buttons 1&3 until the LED started flashing rapidly (to reset the transponder).
2) It says you have to press and hold the button to be programmed until the LED slowly flashes.

Now, once I press any one button after the reset the LED flashes immediately slowly, I keep pressing my original remote but the system is NOT picking it up.

Any suggestions?

It's a 04 AR 4.2

Hmmmm... yes, I believe it does.

I've tried the method described in the Audi manual with no luck... and it never mentioned anything about messing with the opener. Have you had luck?

(My garage door opener actually got zapped my an electrical storm... new one is arriving later this week. It's still a Genie though)

yeah , if it is a new on it has a rolling opener, that means it changes every time it sends a signal. what i had to do to get the homelink to see it was push the learn button, and run to the car and program it like it says. took me about 5 - 6 tries before my car learned it and the door opened at closed. I found I had to park right under the opener to get the best signal. Hope this helps at all if you have any problems feel free to shoot me a pm.

Awesome. I can't wait to try it. I have 3 remotes for this one garage door (double bay)... and they all seem to suffer from bad connections or short battery life.
(I got the new opener installed last night)

The video doesn't work - the page doesn't even open.

Anyone knows where the send/receive unit on the Allroad is?
n the Homelink page they only show the latest models...

Robb

PS: Tried it with my 2006 Nissan too - the button to be programmed should start blink fast after holding it for a while - doesn't do it on either car it blinks slow and then shuts off.

I got it to work with the HomeLink in my Allroad at first try - but I really had to follow the instructions carefully. I remember I used both the instructions provided in the Allroad owner's manual + the instructions I got for the garage door opener.

The best alternative is probably to go to this web page:
http://www.homelink.com/programming/programming.taf
(or http://www.homelink.com and choose "North America/English" then "programming")
and then select your vehicle/device and you'll get the step-by-step instructions.

BTW: my HomeLink transmitter seems to be a little "weaker" than the transmitters that came with the garage door opener unit as I have to be pretty close (approx. 30ft) to my garage to make the HomeLink work.

Good luck.
