I couldn't find a reasonable '05 allroad either, so I settled for an '04 with a good service record and painted bumpers in 4.2l.

Why the '05 specifically?

allroads are very under-appreciated cars. They can be high maintenance, but they are also built like tanks. I had a 2001 and the quality of the fit and finish was outstanding. The materials used were top notch. I eventually traded it in on an 08 Passat VR6 4-Motion with all available options. Ya know....I still miss the allroad.

I wish these were "post covid times", but I did take my first since-March-2020 trip to Chicago in the black beast last month. Taking another one in the next week or so to capture the Fall colors. Enjoy your trip and continue to take care.

Default My 2004 4.2 Allroad 110K is for sale

I have a very nice beige 2004 4.2 C5 Allroad that I am selling because I found a unicorn – near pristine 2005 2.7T Allroad with 6MT and <100K miles. Boston area.

My car needs an engine out service to replace camshaft position sensor and a.c. drive gear. Meanwhile, it is a winter beast that runs flawlessly. Anybody who's been frustrated by the lag in the Tiptronic 2.7T will find the same transmission perfectly matched to the 4.2.

Nice, congrats! Is that 6MT original, and what color is it, and where are the pics??

Lag?!? I've never had no 2.7TT lag and I'm not about to start checking for one nor let anyone else do it. I need a neck adjustment every time I press too hard on that right pedal.

Enjoy your new allroad!
