I just bought a K&N filter for my 2004 A4 1.8t. how the hell do I put it in!!! (just bought the car 5 days ago) someone please help.

man you are in trouble but dont worry its not the end of the world. Its pretty easy: unscrew airways to the intake. then unplug hoses, unscrew 4 screws on the heatshield, then 3 bolts that hold black metal tubing(hose), and start pulling the entire box while observing if there is anything still attached. btw start pulling towards the engine and then up.

are you serious? i mean if you really cant find what to unscrew, i'll go right now and pop my hood and take pix, but there is only like 2+4+3=9ish screws and 3ish tubes to take off

passenger side black box connected to a air channel that goes to the front of your car....heat shield is a metal looking thing attached to it....it is a pain in the *** though

if you click you'll see small red circles. THIS IS HOW YOU TAKE ENTIRE INTAKE BOX. you can just take the top off and replace the filter, I recommend take entire intake box and clean out airways and some sand or w/e else is inside that box. i did mine and im glad that i did, cuz i had bees and other creatures grave yard there barried with tons of sand and leaves.
