^^ I have a 2001 S4 as well and my remote is about to go anytime now. But my FCC does not match up with what you have so I dont think it will work. Can you confirm this? I done my search, but not having any luck with answers... I will definately buy one if it does.

 

The dealer answered my question, if your current remote does not match 4d0 837 231 P exactly, it is not compatible. Well at least that is what the parts guy said. He said the only numbers that matter are the 4d0 837 231 P, not the can or fcc.

I know those are the only numbers that need to be matched, but I'm telling you it doesn't always need to be matched.. A friend has a 97 1.8 passat that did not come with the switchblade. He is now using one and it works perfectly... Yet I do not know what they will work for. So it is up to you to decide... Once again if you want one let me know.. The number is present on the remote when you pull it apart from the key... I only have 13 now...

Yeah.. buy the ones on ebay... Take them to the dealer and have them tell you they wont cut them because the metal is to hard... its up to you..
