Default 06 A3, Bluetooth upgrade to support A2DP ?

Hi All,

I've been fairly happy with my Qtek 9000 talking to the A3 via bluetooth using the handsfree profile but I'm looking at playing podcasts (any audio file really) thru bluetooth. I upgraded my phone to add A2DP functionnality but it seems that the car doesn't have any A2DP functionnality (the Wireless stereo Speakers option doesn't show up when I browse the car's bluetooth devices).

Any idea if there are any bluetooth firmware upgrades out there that would add that functionnality ?

Thanks a lot,

cheers

p

I haven't heard anything but if you do find out please post any info here. It would be nice to see an ipod bluetooth transmitter that could work with the car.

I have a 2007 A3 with UHV bluetooth and I can listen to audio from my Cingular 3125 by
1) using BTAudioToggle(or BlueMusic) to redirectaudiofrom the phoneto bluetooth
2)addinga phone book contactwith the number *#06#which simply displays the phone'sIMEI number
3) selecting and dialing the IMEI contact from thecarwhichopens the audio channel between the phone and the car
The quality is not good enough for music so I have not used this enough to know if there are any downsides.

Rob.

if it doesnt specifically support A2DP(which the A3 does NOT) then any music you can hack through the voice channel are single channel low quality that although perfectly fine for phone calls, just plain suck for 'music'. It will instead just sound like noise....noise with some rythm maybe.

Is it posible forAudito add support for A2DP to UHV in a firmware release? If so, isit likely?

Thanks, Rob.

You can try the WMA3000A. It's a plug and play. Wirelessly play music. Sound quality is excellent.
