12V outlet in A3 trunk
Hi Guys,
First of all thanks for all the helpful information on this site.
I went camping this weekend for the first time with my A3 and I used the 12V outlet in the trunk to power a radio. I noticed that the key did not have to be in the ignition for the outlet. How much power does the outlet drain/how long can I have something plugged into the outlet without draining the battery?
On another note, I made the drive from Charlotte to WV through the very hilly hwy 77, and i was very surprised to get 31.6mpg on that hilly of a drive, spending a lot of time over 85 on the speedometer. This car never ceases to amaze me, it's an amazing piece of engineering!
Thanks,
Josh

Not sure on all the power pull but the longest I had it going for was almost 8hrs and forgot that it was were my power was coming from so I paniced and prayed the car would start. Turned over with out a hitch. Also regarding MPG's I just did a drive with an average mph of 75 and temp of 30 and did 190miles and got an average of 35.8mpg oh and altitude of 4700 ft. This little 2.0T is WONDERFUL!!!

30MPG?
Wow! You guys are mileage rockstars! Best I have been able to get out of my 2.0 TT has been around 24mpg....er....been having way too much fun I guess.
I miss my A3 TDI when 'bad' mileage figures were still over 30!
