2007 2.0T clutch vibraion issue
Just got my new A3 s-line 6sp manual in this week. Very disappointed with the clutch. Lots ofvibration coming through the clutch pedal. It is especially bad when shifting under hard acceleration. Anyone else experience this. I mentioned it to the dealer service but got the old "some vibration is normal" line. Just thought I'd find out what others have experienced before going back and insisting on a serious look see. Those of you with the manual trans, do you feel there is excessive vibration in the clutch pedal or is it on par with others you've owned? Has there been a rash of complaints about vibrating clutch pedals on A3s (or any relevant A4s, GTIs, Golf, Passats, Jetta, etc which i think all use the same clutch-engine-shifter combo.) I did take one for a test drive before purchasing itandI did not notice anything odd with the clutch but it would not be the first time I let the excitement of a test drive cloud my senses. I couldn't find a thread on this issue but if someone knows of one, I'd appreciate a vector. Thanks.

I have an 06 A3 2.0T straight shift and have not had any problems you mentioned. While driving this morning I specifically tried to feel something with the clutch. Felt normal to me.

i have an a3 2.0t with a maunal transmision also. my clutch vibrates a little bit to but it doesnt bother me. i used to think it was my fault and i was burning the clutch but i think its just the type of clutch it is(especialy at high rpms). im not disapointed though cuz even though it has some vibration, it still is a very comfortable system. maybe you should consider getting a racing clutch for it.

I have a 2006 2.0T and my clutch is very smooth. We have a dual mass flywheel, so the clutch should be very smooth and quiet. You shouldn't have your foot on the clutch very long anyway, so I'm a little puzzled about how you drive as well.
Good luck with the resolution.

I picked up a new A3 2.0 TDI Quattro on 26/3/07, yesterday (3/4/07)I noticed the vibration through the clutch pedal, until then it had been smooth. Today it is worse and I have arranged to have it looked at tomorrow. When idling, it pulses with the engine speed, at speed it feels like treading on egg shells when the clutch is pressed.

Oak > I have had my A3 manual trans in for a strange clutch feel. The feeling I had was that the clutch vibrated just a bit when it was pushed all the way down and would actually fail to allow the gear to engage. The car was only a few months old and so clutch wear was not a factor. The dealership said that they could not replicate the problem, but that the hydraulic fluid was a little low (barely). I have been driving a couple of months since then and it seems to have gone away.
