2009 A3 Heated Seats
 

Just bought 09 A3 2.0 quattro. Optioned for heated seats. Tried them first time and could barely tell they were on. Asked dealer about it and he said 09 has software level 100 and new temp settings for seat levels. Max temp is only 39deg C or about 102 deg F, pre-software level 100 max temp was 64 deg c, or about 150 deg F.

Current setting of 6 is nearly equal to previous setting 4. I'm in the Northeast and could really use the old level 6 temp. Any ideas on how to get it?

Makes me think a few folks have melted some seats. I've cranked my 2007 to 5 and it's plenty warm in a hurry. At least here in SE Texas.

setting 6 is actually pretty damn hot
 

if it makes you feel any better we turn the 6 back down to about 4 once it warms up. 6 is actually too hot to leave it there.

agree with KGW, here in socal(and when I lived in VA) 2 is what I usually use, 3 sometimes. 5 and 6 burns my ass!

OP- maybe VAGCOM has an option to fix what you want?

At the risk of sounding foolish and asking a dumb question - are you wearing TONS of layers?

I know our '09 gets PLENTY warm... however when we first got the car, my wife commented "are these working? i don't feel anything... is yours on?" What we realized is that when she wears a full suit and heavy long coat - she can't feel the heat as much as I can in just my suit (no coat).

Just a thought.

you are right, i have a 2010 and these things are crap. i have had 3 vw's and 1 was warmer than 6 in this A3. i had the dealer look and they said that this leather will wrinkle if you get it too hot, sounds like an excuse to me they are barely warm at best on 6
