Hi everyone

I drive a 2005 A3 2.0T with DSG, apon average acceleration while gears are being changed the car makes a blow /soft thud sound almost like the boot is not closed properly.

It's definitely not the turbo because i can hear that sound seperately. Sound also orginates from the the back right hand side of the car and the exhaust is on the left.

Has anyone come across this?

Hmm kinda of hard to dianose problem sounds over the internet. You should be under warranty, maybe have a service advisor take a ride with you.

 

new car like that, definately need to talk with Audi.

are you 100% sure?

those do have a louder dv (blow off valve kind of sound) right from the factory..

i've driven quite a few and they have a very loud sound during shifts and on and off the gas.

 

Thankx for the input i'll definitely get the dealership to check it out.

And i'm hundred percent sure of the sound, like i say it's not a loud sound and can only be heard from inside the car..... i've read guys mentioning turbo blow-off sounds. You don't think it could be that right?

I have the same question like rheinhardt did. My wife & I just picked up our A3 last weekend (06 DSG, Sports, Bi-Xenon, Sky) and we heard that "sound" too. At first I thougt that it might come from the turbo but I ditched that idea, then I wondered if it could be something similar to my '05 Cooper S (the burbing sound just like backfire at the tail) when you shift.
