A3 2004 8p1 Reverse light for drivers side.
 

My A3 2004 8p1 does not have a working reverse light on the drivers side, from factory.
Have found that a physically smaller bulb (same resistance as standard bulb) is installed in this bulb holder.
Removing this gives a faulty or missing bulb error on the dash when reverse is selected.
Installing a standard bulb at this position does not work and I still get the bulb faulty error.

Question has anyone found a mod to get the drivers side reversing light working?
I was thinking of having the smaller bulb always connected to this lead so that the computer thinks it has a bulb connected. The lead would be disconnected from the actual reverse bulb holder.
Then running a wire from the passengers side reverse light to the drivers side bulb holder.
I'm not sure if the computer would get upset seeing more current on the reverse light circuit.
